LANJUKANG ISLAND

Lanjukang Island, also called Lanyukang Island, or Island Laccukang, an outer island, a distance of 40 km from the city of Makassar, including Barrang Caddi Village, District Land Edge. To reach this island from the city of Makassar, there is no regular transport, but for tourists to use chartered boat (the boat) with engine 40 PK for 10 passengers with a rental fee of Rp. 1.OOO.OOO, - (round trip) Elongated shape of this island southwest - northeast, with a broad reach over 6 ha, with a surrounding reef flat area of ​​11 ha. On the east is an area that is open and there is plain that juts out (spit). While in western sisl the middle, there is a lighthouse. Vegetation on the island is quite dense, with trees spread evenly, dominated by pine trees and coconut trees and banana trees in the middle of the island.
Public facilities are available is still relatively very limited. Education and health facilities are not yet available. Electrical installations with 2 of the generator only operates between the hours of 17:30 - 21 .00 pm. There is a brackish water wells in the central part of the island for their daily needs. We can also find 2 pieces of small shops with very limited merchandise. In addition there is a semi-permanent mushallah. Settlements are concentrated on the north side of the island which is relatively more secure in the season east and west.
The island is not equipped with boat dock facilities. On the western side, at the lowest ebb of reef flats have reached a distance of 1 km and at a distance of 2 km there are areas that have steep up into more than 100 m. Territorial waters south side, east, and north of the island is a ship navigation channel.
Resort facilities already available in the form of 2 pieces of semi-permanent buildings of stone houses as a guest house for tourists to this island. Although the facilities are very limited, for those who like a natural atmosphere, this island is one ideal place for those who want to do camping or just sunbathe on the beautiful white sand beach and clean, or for those who like bersnorkling waters around this island, panorama diversity of marine parks and marine biota with a clean main attraction.
The condition of coral reefs around the island are generally still good and very interesting for snorkeling activities. We can find various kinds of species of corals, soft corals, reef fish and ornamental fish and marine life. Generally, this island used by fishermen as a transit tourists, before proceeding to the waters of the island and the island of Taka Bakang Marsende (territorial waters Pangkajene Islands District) for the "sport fishing".
