The island of Bali was named the Best Island Destination in Asia Pacific (Best Island Destination in Asia-Pacific Asia Pacific) at The Fifth Annual DestinAsian Readers' Choice Awards, February 8, 2010. Awards are based on DestinAsian magazine readers choice award which is the 3rd time for the same category, namely in 2007, 2009 and 2010. In 2006 and 2008 Bali was selected as Best Leisure DestinAsian.
Present to accept the award is the Director of Market Development, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Syamsul Lussa. Ronald Liem, Publisher DestinAsian cum Managing Director Media Group revealed the award has its own value considering the economic conditions and changes that arise in the world of tourism during the past year.
Giving an award that has been conducted five times also shows that many business people and travelers who continue exploring the Asia Pacific region and enjoy the diversity of tours offered.
Readers choice awards in 2010 it chose Bangkok as Best City Destination for Leisure and Singapore as the Best City Destination for Business in Asia Pacific. Malaysia Airlines also selected as Best Airline, Best In-Flight Entertainment, Best Economy Class and Best Airline Travel Class premium. Singapore's Changi Airport won the award as the Best Airport in Asia-Pacific.
In addition to the above categories, The Fifth Annual DestinAsian Readers' Choice Awards also chose a number of best hotels. Jakarta Grand Hyatt and Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan was chosen as the best hotels in Jakarta and Bali. Similar award given to the best hotel in 17 other cities in Asia Pacific.
